Yo! My name's Kazuya Minegishi. I'm just your average boy... or so I thought! As it turns out, my world has a demon infestation problem, and guess who got roped into taking care of it? That's right. It's your boy.

Don't get me wrong-- I'm no hero. I'd rather be listening to cool music on my MP3 player than summoning demons. But hey, when the fate of the world and my friends is on the line, a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do.

Pretty cool, right? I'm so cool. I've since ascended to the throne and become the King of Demons. All the demons in the world now bow to me. I may look like a lanky boy, but I've got so much power and hunger for human souls.

[ Akira laughs against his stomach, but Kazuya is already informing house keeping to change out Akira's rock solid mattress for something more Kingly, tapping away at his watch to do that. ]

They'll be here in a few minutes to switch it out. Wanna vacate so we don't have to watch them fumble with it?

[Akira sits up abruptly, if only because doing so hides the light splash of embarrassed red flooding his cheeks. it's weird!! having people do nice things for him!! and for a brief moment there, he forgot that part of the joy of being a king for Kazuya was "doing nice things for his friends."]

[opens mouth. closes it again. opens it. being as close to Akira's neck as he is, Kazuya may also be able to feel the frantic beating of his pulse underneath his skin]

But then he just laughs, gently shoving at Akira with no real intent to get out. If there was, there wouldn't be an issue... Sorry, buddy.]

[can't believe Akira is being BULLIED like this!! in retaliation, Kazuya gets an aggressive noogie, because Akira has got to take advantage of his upper hand while he still has it (read: while Kazuya still deigns to give it to him)]

[They're definitely just clowning around. It feels right. It feels normal, as Kazuya laughs and laughs, still playfully shoving at Akira.]

You can't fool me! You're not nearly as cool as you try and pretend to be. I can tell you're embarrassed and just trying to cover it up with aggression!

[the noogie ends, and Akira winds up draping himself across Kazuya's back, arms resting loosely against his shoulders. no more headlocks!!]

[they really do need to leave. . . before housekeeping comes and makes the whole date incredibly awkward. but either way, Kazuya's response earns a breathy laugh from Akira, who then pushes himself upright to grin down on his companion. it's still cheeky! still playful! but there's something softer around its edges]

[. . . lifts one hand to brush a few stray locks of blue hair from Kazuya's forehead]

[Kazuya will push himself up next, giving a stretch after he does.]

[Akira leans back to allow Kazuya to sit up, gaze instinctively tracing the lines of his companion's body as he stretches. long and thin. . . not really catlike, but for some reason Akira can imagine two fluffy ears flicking on the top of his head. . . that's a cute mental image]

Hey-- wait one second--

[he reaches out, fingers curling (very loosely) into Kazuya's shirt, to stop him from leaving just yet]

[He stops basically everything he's doing, when Akira grabs into his shirt like that. It might be a light grip, but Kazuya is none the less very patient.]

[so patient. and thoughtful! he might be a huge tease, but never once has he made Akira feel like he is the butt of some kind of joke. Kazuya's sassier moments are tons of fun, but. . . the part of him that is willing to buy a guy a new mattress at the drop of a hat. . . to drag a stranger back to his room and feed him rice balls. . . to make life-altering decisions for the sake of protecting the people he loves and the world in which they live. . .]

[for a moment, Akira simply toys with the fabric of Kazuya's shirt, running it slowly between two fingers. but then, with a sudden rush of courage (a suddenly inhale and exhale, as though steeling himself), he tugs against that shirt to bring Kazuya closer]

[and then steals a (very chaste, actually fairly quick) kiss]

[He says, with not even a hint of admonishment immediately after Akira presses his lips to his own.

Kazuya's hands come up, cupping Akira's cheeks as he leans in, like he's going to return the kiss...

And then pulls on them, pulling away.]

C'mon, lets get outta here.

[Akira's grin is wide enough to cut his features like a knife, softened only by the light dusting of pink on his cheeks that becomes more obvious once he pulls away]

Guilty as charged.

[even the fakeout-- though it does cause his breath to hitch a little in his throat-- doesn't seem to faze him, a laugh tumbling from his lips once he feels Kazuya playfully tugging against flushed skin]

Yeah, yeah. Let's go.

[what a good day. what a good date!! it's almost a shame it's time for him to escort the king back to his castle]

[Kazuya moves off the bed, reaching for Akira's hand to tug him along and out the door, before realizing that, well. Akira is supposed to be the lead on this date. Akira is the one who has to cart him around.

So instead he swings their hands, peeking down the hallways for any sign of a mattress being delivered.

None yet! They're safe...]

Where to next? You're not seriously about to bring me back to my room now, are you?
