IC

NAME: Kazuya Minegishi
AGE: 18
SUITABILITY: Kazuya is the king of demons on his route, is 18+, and quite frankly, used to weird demon shit by this point. He had to fight a horny version of someone he just met because she was possessed by a horny demon. He ate that horny demon, and now that horny demon is inside him. Presumably under control. To say nothing of the plethora of demons that are shaped like dicks or vaginas or for some reason just absolutely covered in boobs.
CANON: Devil Survivor: Overclocked
CANON POINT: Post 8th Day, Warlord route.

ABILITIES: Devil Survivor has an incredibly large amount of skills, some stated and some more implied. For simplicities sake, I'll only list the ones I think would need to be nerfed. Kazuya will not have access to any of the skills that are labeled as Unique on those lists.

Teleportation: While it'd be neat to keep this one, the nerf I propose for this is that he needs IC permission to just pop into peoples rooms, and that permission can be revoked at any time.

Demon Summoning: As he has complete sovereignty over all the demons in DeSu, and can technically summon them as he pleases, I think it'd be good to keep this to one demon able to be summoned (you know. for sex reasons if anyone down for a demon threesome), with all of their abilities nerfed into the dirt so that even regular humans could realistically fight them.

Magic Ability: Has enough magical power in him to kill god. He can use either elemental spells, almighty (Neutral) spells, or curse (mental / your basic petrification/paralysis/etc) spells.

Other than that, I think his magic ability in regards to spells would be limited by the suit he's assigned as is, so no incredible resort destroying explosions for him. Same goes for his incredible physical power as well.

Kazuya also in theory has the ability to shapeshift / manifest more demonic looking parts of himself, if the manga is anything to go off of. It wouldn't be a stretch either, considering that other demons are able to shapeshift as well, and it makes sense if he'd be able to do it as well, as their king and someone with the power to have killed God.

VICES: -Indecisive: Kazuya is shown to be more than a little indecisive, bemoaning the fact that if he doesn't have the right information, then he can't make any choices. It's this that has him making most choices last minute, even if they're incredibly important ones (Such as if he's going to become the messiah for god, or the overlord of demons, or even just following Atsuro's plan and subjugating all the demons, or going with Yuzu and just leaving the lockdown).

-Wrath: Kazuya can be a particularly wrathful individual, so long as the situations are right. He has no problems physically attacking the demons who are hurting his friends to the point that what he does to them is extreme, and he has no problems doing the same for humans or angels either. Anyone who gets in the way of him living his life as he chooses can be met with an extreme amount of violence. Even more so now that he's consumed the other Bel demons, and has made their wrath his own.

VIRTUES: +Compassionate: Kazuya is also an incredibly patient and normally mild mannered individual. He cares a lot about the people around them, and his friends most of all. He offers to let Yuzu stay with him when her parents are fighting, he takes his time to make sure Midori understands that even if she uses her demons to help people, they might not see it as that. Even when Naoya, the reincarnation of the Biblical Cain, calls him his pawn, Kazuya simply asks if he was a good one. Not because he believes that he's Naoya's pawn, but because that he can see that Naoya has been hurting for so long, and Kazuya wants to ease that. It's also the reason that he becomes the Overlord of Demons, so that humans will never have to go through another of God's trials.

+Perseverance: Lack of surprise here, since Kazuya was able to consistently rewrite his deathclock during the lockdown, the thing that would tell him he had "0" days to live very, very frequently. On top of that, he's able to hold his own against the so called Immortal Demon, Beldr and consume his power as his own while he's still basically fresh from learning how to use his demons. He also manages to change the fate of the friends, and even those around him, rewriting many people's 0 on their death clock and allowing them to survive the lockdown as well. The cherry on top of all of this? He manages to fight and win against Metatron, the angel said to be as powerful as God himself, before he even becomes the fully realized King of Bel.

SURVEY

▶ I REGULARLY MAKE NEW FRIENDS.
1. Kazuya is frequently shown making new friends, pretty much without even trying during canon. He simply encounters people and wham, suddenly friendship, likely due to his nature in wanting to help people if they're in trouble. He might not be the most outwardly sociable of protagonists, but he's also not going to push people away either, and he's shown to get along pretty readily with the new people he does meet, from Midori to Keisuke to Haru and so on. He's good at leaving a positive impression on people.

▶ SEEING OTHER PEOPLE CRY MAKES ME WANT TO CRY TOO.
5. It's not that Kazuya isn't empathetic to their plights, or that he's not upset by seeing other people upset, but he's someone for whom strong emotions take a lot to work out of him. He'll readily help people who are upset, and certainly try to cheer them up, but wanting to cry because someone else is crying just isn't him.

▶ I OFTEN MAKE A BACKUP PLAN FOR A BACKUP PLAN.
3. Fairly middling here. I wouldn't say that it's that he makes back up plans for back up plans, but he's someone who is fairly adept at reading the situation, and if his initial plan doesn't work out, then the one he comes up with in the moment usually does. He's certainly the type to think on his feet in terms of "What is the most pressing situation?" and then go from there.

▶ I USUALLY STAY CALM, EVEN WHEN UNDER A LOT OF PRESSURE.
1. The only time Kazuya seems to absolutely lose it, are when his friends are being attacked by demons, and even then, even as he's near disemboweled, he's able to keep his thoughts together enough to manage to win the fight.

▶ I AM VERY SENTIMENTAL.
3. Bot yes and no. It's not for physical items he's sentimental for, but people. Yuzu is his childhood friend, he'd do anything for her. Atsuro is someone who became a fast friend out of seemingly random person who showed up on his cousins doorstep. And of course, there is also Naoya, his cousin who is the reincarnation of the Biblical Cain, while Kazuya himself is the reincarnation of his brother, Abel. And while he could have gone the other way for that, hated Naoya for what he'd done to him, Kazuya doesn't. He still remains close to Naoya, supporting him and choosing to become the King of Bel in part for him. He wants to remove the curse that Naoya is under, among other things.

▶ EVEN A SMALL MISTAKE CAN CAUSE ME TO DOUBT MY OVERALL ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE.
4. Kazuya is a very, very confident person, generally speaking. He's incredibly intelligent too, able put together things that other people might have done so incorrectly or been unable to at all. Even if he is shown to be wrong, he simply reassesses the situation again with the new information to make a better choice than he might have otherwise.

▶ I AM MORE INCLINED TO FOLLOW MY HEAD THAN MY HEART.
2. Definitely the sort to think first and then act, Kazuya is hardly rash in most of his decisions. Again, this ties heavily into his theme of wanting to make sure he's doing the best he can, to be making the best choice he can possibly make with the information he has, before he acts. Not that he can't make a brash decision, but they're very few and far between, and a surge of strong emotion such as seeing people he cares for in danger is one of the few ways to get him to think more with his emotions than his head.

▶ I AM PRONE TO WORRYING THAT THINGS WILL TAKE A TURN FOR THE WORSE.
4. This is something Kazuya thinks about, but doesn't, or tries not to, dwell on for very long. Being in the lockdown was bad enough, but with Yuzu and Atsuro counting on him to be strong, to not show any trace of doubt or weakness, he couldn't afford to think those kinds of thoughts. The only thing important his friends and himself making it out of the lockdown alive, and hopefully whole. Worrying that things might turn even worse in a lockdown with a complete societal collapse and demons and angels and even humans running around killing people just wasn't an option.

▶ I ENJOY WATCHING PEOPLE ARGUE.
4. As long as it's done in a friendly manner, Kazuya doesn't mind watching people argue, such as when it's Atsuro and Yuzu getting into one of their arguments. In which case he just watches them do this incredibly fondly.

▶ I TEND TO AVOID DRAWING ATTENTION TO MYSELF.
2. For the most part, Kazuya tends to keep to himself and really only speak when spoken to, to the point where he lets his friends Yuzu and Atsuro do most of the talking for him. Not that there aren't situations where he'll go out of his way to draw attention to himself, usually for the sake of those friends, but it just definitely isn't his go to.

▶ I OFTEN DO THINGS AT THE LAST POSSIBLE MOMENT.
1. It's less out of laziness that he does it. Kazuya is the kind of person to want to have all of the possible knowledge he could have before he makes a decision. It's important to him that he makes the best decision he can, even if it means the decision has to be delayed.

▶ I FIND IT EASY TO EMPATHIZE WITH A PERSON WHOSE EXPERIENCES ARE VERY DIFFERENT FROM MINE.
2 He has to explain to Midori why other people might not see people using demons, even to protect other people, might still make them afraid, and he's also able to understand Naoya's feelings, after having reincarnated over and over relentlessly with his memories intact. It's also that same empathy for others with experiences different from him why he's able to consider Kaido a friend, despite the other mans incredibly aggressive attitude and Might Makes Right way of thinking.

▶ I BECOME BORED OR LOSE INTEREST WHEN THE DISCUSSION GETS HIGHLY THEORETICAL.
3. Middling answer, as Kazuya only somewhat pays attention to when Atsuro goes on his long, highly detailed theories and rants about this or that or the other thing, but pays highly close attention if it's something that concerns or involves him, like when Naoya or Atsuro talk about demons and the logistics behind them.

▶ I RARELY FEEL INSECURE.
3. He has moments of insecurity and self doubt, on whether or not he's making the right choices or doing the right thing, but generally he tries not to think about those "what ifs" unless they're staring him directly in the face. If he can do something about the situation, he will. If he can't, well. It's best not to think about that kind of thing yet anyway.

▶ I AM STILL BOTHERED BY MISTAKES I MADE A LONG TIME AGO.
2. Not quite to the tune of mistakes, but choices that Kazuya has made that he could have done differently still hold a "what-if" over him. What if he had chosen to believe in Atsuro's way of dealing with the demons? What would have happened if he had chosen to say to hell with everything and escape the lockdown with Yuzu? Though he doesn't think he made the wrong choice, he still thinks about these things nonetheless.

SUIT REQUESTS: Diamonds would be my first pick where possible. I would like him to be more prone to giving in more to the more animalistic wants that demons usually carry. On the flip-side of that, Spades is also something I wouldn't mind playing around with, as the route I have taken Kazuya from has him sparing people instead of killing them, so having him have to deal with the darker urges more frequently would also be fun.
RANK REQUESTS: hear me out. It would be incredibly funny if as the King of Demons he was a high rank. But also, it'd be incredibly funny if he was a low rank.
